How to Make Mexican Candy Shots

Mexican Candy Shots

These tasty Mexican candy shots are the best and remind me of the watermelon lollipops covered in chili. Those were my absolute favorite growing up. The lollipop, not the shot lol They’re are both delicious though.

These are perfect to make year round or when Cinco de Mayo is here! I rimmed the shot glass with chamoy and tajin so when you take the shot the combination of the tequila, watermelon pucker and chamoy rim come together and make the best mexican candy shot you’ll ever have.

I had this shot when I was visiting San Antonio, Texas and thought “Omg! I have to try to make this at home!” Made a couple different versions but this one was the winner.

What is a Mexican Candy Shot?

These shots are suppose to taste like the Mexican watermelon lollipops that are covered in chili. The shots are made with tequila, watermelon pucker and hot sauce. This recipe adds a splash of cranberry and triple sec and it takes the shot to another level. Your taste buds will be dancing!

# Tips

The garnished watermelon wedge is totally optional but I love it for 2 reasons. Presentation and eating it right after you take the shot.

I’ve had a few different variations of this shot but this one is my favorite!

Make these for your next get together or when Cinco de Mayo comes up! I hope you enjoy them as much as my friends and I do.
